I redesigned the blog today to make it match the rest of the site. I think this makes it look nicer and its more unique than the default Kubrick theme that I was using.
Also Morley wrote in today that he wanted to get to WebnoteHappy from the blog and it was harder than it should have been. So I put a prominent link to it as well as moving up the email feedback and the subscribe link.
If you have a WordPress blog and are looking to customize it, I’d suggest reading these documents to get a better understanding of how to do it:
Nice work, Luis. The update looks great. Eventually I’ll probably try to unify the design of my site/blog, too.
But check out the navigation bar links from within the blog. Some are broken, (e.g. Support) apparently because they are using relative links that don’t make sense in the blog.
Thanks Daniel. I did indeed try to use relative links but that only worked for the main page of the blog. So now I just switched everything to use absolute links and it all works now.
Looks fine to my unskilled eye except for the yellow/green(?) border distracting my focus of attention to it. If there’s a border at all I don’t think it should be the same color that’s used for solid backgrounds elsewhere on pages. It creates sort of a “moire pattern”-like effect, for lack of a better description.
And maybe Daniel wants to share the optional live comment preview modification he uses on Red Sweater Blog?
